If you are stuck for ideas on what to get your dad this Father’s Day, we’ve compiled a list below of top ten things you can do with your dad this Father’s Day in Wiltshire:
1. Whizz about the Wiltshire countryside
Whether on an ATV on Salisbury Plain or the racetrack at Castle Combe Circuit dads can get their pulse racing on one of our driving activities.
2. Drive through Longleat’s Safari on their anniversary year
Celebrate 50 years of Longleat's Safari Park being open on a visit this Father’s Day. Will your dad be brave enough to drive through Monkey Kingdom? Can he make his way through the Hedge Maze? Or perhaps you’d all enjoy a leisurely jungle cruise to spot the sea lions or get hands-on with tarantulas, snakes or even fluffy bunnies!
3. Take dad out for a good old pub meal
Whether a country pub or a city centre pub sample some of our local ales and good old pub grub with dad.
4. Sample local wines at A’becketts
Make a trip to Wiltshire vineyard, A’becketts (just south of Devizes) to sample the local wines and pick up a tipple for dad.
5. Go cycling around Bradford on Avon
Hire a bike from Towpath Trail – just a short distance from the Kennet & Avon Canal and explore parts of Bradford on Avon. Whether you fancy cycling along the tow path towards Devizes or a shorter route around the town there’s a lot of opportunity for burning off the calories.
6. Make a walk around Langford Lakes
Head to this nature reserve for some wildlife spotting with dad. Check out the bird hides and see the flora and fauna on offer here. Langford Lakes is managed by the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and is free to visit.
7. Enjoy an UFO-themed Treasure Trail
Take up the challenge of a Spy Mission Treasure Trail in Warminster. The theme of this trail is Alien Portal Destruction – due to Warminster’s UFO connections. The trail is approximately three miles long and should take 2.5 hours to complete.
8. Calling all transport lovers – take a trip to one of our museums
Whether it’s at Boscombe Down Aviation Collection at Old Sarum, Atwell-Wilson Motor Museum in Calne or STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway, there are lots of indoor activities on offer for dad over Father’s Day.
9. Crack the codes at Salisbury Escape Room
After being briefed by a detective, see if dad (and his trusted team) can solve the clues to make their way out of Salisbury Escape Room within an hour.
10. Book onto a tour of Ramsbury Brewery
Whether dad’s tipple is real ale or perhaps he favours gin, a tour of Ramsbury Brewery’s factory will enlighten the senses! (Advanced booking essential).
