Marden House Concerts
Sunday May 19th 3.00pm Milo Harper - Harp.
We are delighted that Milo Harper the harpist will be entertaining us
with a varied programme that will showcase the full range and possibilities of the harp.
Milo is a leading harpist of his generation. He has toured globally, giving solo performances at the World Harp Congress in Hong Kong and the Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall He has performed concertos in both the UK and Europe as well as Hong Kong and Singapore. Some of us may have seen and heard him playing in Downton Abbey and The Little Mermaid. I am really looking forward to learning more about the harp and just what it is capable of.

A little history. As one of the oldest buildings in Calne Marden House was home to the Wharfinger who handled traffic on the Wilts and Berks Canal, which terminated here. Local people raised funds and obtained grants to renovate the building and convert it to a community and arts centre, the then HRH Prince Charles, now King Charles 111 gave his support
by visiting in 1988 (see the plaque on the front of the building), and the centre was opened in 1990.
