The Chough dates back to the early 14th century when it was used as a coaching house on Blue Boar Row next to Salisbury market place.
Our Chefs Justin and Adam work hard to provide you with a fantastic choice of food from their honest approach to home cooking, wherever possible sourcing their ingredients from local sources including the local markets and butchers. Feel free to join us for a light lunch in the beautiful outside courtyard or a wonderful tasty evening meal with friends within this beautfull 14th century building.
For those with a taste for the "haunted" the pub still has below the main bar the old dungeons where prisoners where held several hundred years ago before being taken to the whipping post, stocks and the hangmans rope. Many souls are reported to still roam the building, often paranormal investigators are allowed in to explore by arrangment.
We can adapt to host any kind of event with a fantastic Function Room on the second floor often playing host to Weddings and Birthday parties. Or for a smaller event, sections of the main bar area naturally lend themselves to being reserved for parties.
