Following on from the success of last year’s new developments which included the new Gorilla Colony, Cheetah Kingdom and African Village, this year the park is launching two new animal attractions.

Penguin Island is a 225,000-litre naturally-themed seawater display which will be home to a colony of Humboldt penguins. Visitors will be able to enjoy spectacular views from both above and below the waterline via giant viewing windows.

As well as the new penguin display, Longleat is also creating a second marine feature. Stingray Bay is a giant, open-topped display housing a selection of tropical stingray species.

The award-winning Wiltshire attraction is also joining forces with BBC Earth to create a spectacular new series of Deadly-themed features at the world famous Wiltshire attraction

The four year plan will see areas of the park transformed in the style of the BBC’s wildly successful Deadly branded programmes which include Deadly 60; Deadly Top 10s; Deadly 360; Deadly Art and most recently Deadly Mission Madagascar as seen on CBBC

From Easter 2013 visitors to the park will be invited to go on a Deadly Safari to discover some of the deadliest creatures within the park.

Deadly TV Presenter Steve Backshall has voiced a special guide to the safari and visitors will be given a special Deadly Safari Activity Book full of information and tasks to test their spotter skills as they explore the park. More brand new Deadly features and events are also planned to take place throughout 2013.

Longleat will also be building on the huge success of last year’s events programme which included Halloween, Fireworks Nights and the Christmas Spectacular with a series of exciting new events and activities throughout the year including Moshi Monsters and the Longleat Fishing and Country Show.

Set within 900 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped grounds and with its unique mix of historic stately home, world famous Safari Park and award-winning Adventure Park family attractions Longleat is one of the UK’s best loved tourist destinations.
