Salisbury > Salisbury and Stonehenge - what to do > Action-packed activities > St George's Day
Salisbury is one of the few cities in the country to celebrate England’s patron saint St. George. In 2011 Salisbury is building on the hugely successful format of pervious years with activity across the city on Monday 25th April and definitely some dragon slaying !
Celebrations in previous years have included a dragon re-enactment , battling knights, medieval themed street entertainment, Morris & maypole dancers, a farmers market and lots more to entertain the whole family. With traditional sweets, fairground rides and other interesting stalls Salisbury really is worth visiting.
The event will commence with a parade of entertainers and acts, led by the city’s Charter Trustees dressed in their historic regalia. The Mayor of Salisbury, Councillor Brian Dalton will welcome everyone and there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
