Festival Director, Maria Bota’s first festival is one of colour, vibrancy and flair. Using the region's unique spaces, from Stonehenge to the Cathedral, our historic Market Place to Danebury Hill fort she has devised a programe of must see events.
East meets West in an inspiring programme of events from the Festival’s featured artist - composer, producer and virtuoso tabla player Kuljit Bhamra. During the Festival, Kuljit will collaborate with a range of artists and will present a wonderful piece that he has created for Stonehenge.

The Salisbury International Arts Festival was named "one of the top multi-arts festivals in the country''. Our Festival in 2009 promises to inspire in just the same way with a colourful mix of events, outdoor spectacles and the best of the world's talent presented in and around the beautiful medieval city of Salisbury! Our Indian theme in 2009 will weave its way though the Festival in colourful and exotic ways.
Highlights include our free opening event of acclaimed French aerialists Transe Express taking to the air in an amazing human mobile; Globe Theatre on tour presenting The Comedy of Errors and classical favourites the Tallis Scholars and the London Mozart Players.
