Salisbury > Salisbury and Stonehenge - what to do > The Rifles (Berkshire and Wiltshire) Museum
Three attractions in one! The Wardrobe, with its many period features, dates from the thirteenth century. It is known as the Wardrobe because it was used as a clothing and document store by bishops of Salisbury in the 14th century. The Wardrobe is now the museum of The Rifles, with displays telling the absorbing story of the infantry regiments of Berkshire and Wiltshire including the Royal Berkshire Regiment, the Wiltshire Regiment and the Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment.
Visitors can enjoy our beautiful riverside garden with views of the famous water-meadows and Salisbury Cathedral. The Bernières restaurant, housed in a restored 16th century coach house, offers home-cooked food for mid-morniing coffee, lunch and tea.
