Salisbury > Salisbury and Stonehenge - where to stay > Manston Guest House
Manston Guest House is ideally located in the centre of the beautiful "Blackmore Vale" farming land of North Dorset. Renowned for its rural beauty, Dorset is considered one of the top three tourist destinations in England. Being in North Dorset, both the seaside and inland attractions such as Bath and Stonehenge, Salisbury are within easy reach without having to stay in the crowded seaside areas. There are over 180 attractions to visit within 1 hour's drive. These range from castles and cathedrals to gardens and man-made attractions. We have a comprehensive menu for meals or snacks as Poppy is an award winning qualified chef. Also there is a local "free" pub, "The Plough" with food is just a few minutes walk away. They have a large selection of ales, a good menu, a garden and a conservatory eating area.
This charming house was built about 1850 and situated on the outskirts of Manston, a peaceful and relaxing rural village. The house has recently been completely modernised internally to an international 4 star standard with silver award. The cottages have been architecturally extended some 25 years ago with the new part blending in with the original house. The B&B areas have been designed with a great deal of care to provide the best and most comfortable accommodation possible with the best modern, high quality, extensive amenities and attention to detail. We have a large and beautiful garden, which has a fantastic view, and a children's play area with swings and a slide. To ensure that the cottage is always nice and clean - for everyone's comfort the cottage is a non-smoking property and we do NOT allow pets.
There are four double, two single bedrooms and one twin (four bedrooms located upstairs, one single bedroom and two doubles located downstairs), all have an en suite bathroom (one double with private facilities) with automatic temperature controlled showers (with ceramic tiles to the ceiling), washbasin, toilet, and centrally heated towel rail. All the bedrooms have large TV and a clock radio, iron & board, and each room has a radiator that can be adjusted for individual room temperature. You will find the beds some of the most comfortable you have ever slept in as they are top of the range Sealy "Natural Elegance" or millennium beds. In addition, the whole house is automatically temperature controlled. The cosy sitting room has a sofa and plenty of reading material.
We have our "Green Apple" dining room for the full English breakfast every morning and evening meals and other meals from our comprehensive menu. There is also a private patio with a barbecue (B&B guests can use for a small charge). A shared laundry is available with washer, dryer facilities. The owner can provide evening and other meals at short notice. There is ample off-road parking. Children are welcome, cots and high chairs are available. Free WIFI.
We look forward to seeing you in our beautiful, well appointed Guest House at Manston.

From London
Take the M3 and then A303 (towards Honiton and Exeter). Turn off on the A350 to Shaftesbury.
In Shaftesbury at the first round-a-bout take the 3rd exit to “B3081 Gillingham and Town Centre” after 200 meters go straight on at the sharp right bend signed to “Town Centre”. After the very narrow (one car at a time) section you will see a sign post to the right “B3091 Sturminster Newton”. Manston is about 5 miles.
When you see the “Manston” village sign, take the first right on the road to “Todber 1½, East Stour 3, Gillingham 6”.
We are the 3rd house on the right (see the B&B board outside number 2).
From Gillingham (Dorset) Railway Station
From Gillingham Station take a taxi and ask for 2 Northwood Cottages, Manston. After Todber on the road to Manston our Guest House is before the village of Manston (before The Plough Pub).
