Pewsey

The pretty village of Pewsey lies to the south of Marlborough. Once owned by King Alfred, it offers a range of places to eat, drink or shop as well as a Heritage Centre and a main line railway station.

Pewsey is surrounded by lush meadows and pasture - contrasting with the chalk downland most commonly found in the area - and the Scotchel and Jones Mill Nature Reserves are nearby.

With its own wharf on the Kennet & Avon Canal, Pewsey makes a good base for walking, cycling and riding around the surrounding area.
