To the south of Wiltshire is the historic medieval city of Salisbury with its magnificent and famous cathedral. Known as 'the city in the countryside' Salisbury is surrounded rolling chalk downlands, tree lined river valleys and pretty villages. Nearby the pre-historic stone circle of Stonehenge stands proudly amid an ancient landscape high on Salisbury Plain.
The Registration Office is situated, close to the city centre, in the Grade 2* listed Georgian building which was once home to the Wyndham family. Now part of the Wiltshire Council Office at Bourne Hill the Georgian building has been carefully restored.
The ceremony room retains many beautiful architectural features from the period and, with elegant floral arrangements, it provides a delightful setting for your ceremony. The room can accommodate 40 guests and there is a spacious entrance hall and waiting room. The ceremony room, disabled toilet facilities and a baby changing unit are all easily accessible on the ground floor.
There is no parking at the Registration Office however two public car parks are conveniently situated within a few minutes walk. Access can be arranged to allow entry for vehicles to drop the bridal party or anyone with mobility difficulties immediately outside the front door but the vehicles must then be moved to the public car park.
The ceremony room, building frontage and adjacent park provide excellent settings for photographs.
