Nicholas Baumber has joined VisitWiltshire Tourism Partnership as new Tourism Coordinator after three years as Tourism Projects Officer with Salisbury District Council.
Nicholas will be responsible for running VisitWiltshire's office, acting as the principle point of contact for tourism businesses in Wiltshire as well as organising presence at public exhibitions and trade shows. His new role involves working with external representatives to co-ordinate, supervise and analyse tourism research. He is taking responsibility for acting as the lead for delivering aspects of sustainability.
Nicholas will work as part of a growing team under the new VisitWiltshire Tourism Partnership umbrella to provide tourism services across Wiltshire to businesses within the county and visitors to the area.
Speaking about his exciting new role Nicholas said "This is a great opportunity. I'm looking forward to developing relationships and productive partnerships. I'll be working across the county with tourism businesses and other organisations to deliver VisitWiltshire's Business Plan and build on Wiltshire's profile as a major day visit and short break destination".
Nicholas's previous role with Salisbury District Council saw him building strong links with key industry partners through the Salisbury and Stonehenge Tourism Partnership and he was responsible for a host of marketing and development projects aimed at raising the profile of south Wiltshire as a major visitor destination.
Having studied Tourism at Bournemouth University, Nicholas has a great understanding of the tourism industry and will bring valuable experience to the role. He will be a positive force in establishing the new organisation and building excellent relationships with the travel trade across the county.
