Rosemundy Cottage provides a spacious, comfortable and relaxing base for a weekend break or longer holiday. The wisteria covered front is alongside the Kennet and Avon Canal and affords parking for guests. The pretty enclosed rear garden has a pool available in the summer months.
Rosemundy Cottage has 4 comfortable and well equipped bedrooms. The Hartshorn room is tastefully decorated in soft pink and green and has a brass bed and overlooks the pool and lawns. It has a spacious bathroom with full sized bath and separate vanity area.
Play romantic music in the Turner Room decorated in soft blue and white, which has a 4 poster bed with vanity unit and an en suite with shower.
Enjoy the dawn chorus and early morning sun from Judson, a large, modern room which has a corner shower in the en suite.
On the ground floor is the Murphy Room. This has a double bed plus a day bed and a large stylish bathroom with bath and separate shower. For families, the Judson and the Murphy Room can be linked by the spiral staircase.
All the rooms have at least a television, electric blankets and alarm clocks. We can provide you with other facilities such as a trouser press and iron. The guest office has broadband access, a fax, printer and photocopier (small charges apply).
Breakfast at leisure in traditional English style - fruit juice, cereal, fresh fruit, then a choice of cooked items, followed by toast and home-made marmalade or jam, with tea or coffee of your choice.
The dining room has an open fireplace and joins the tranquil sitting room, which opens out onto the sunny patio and the garden beyond, which has a summer house, greenhouse, pool and shaded seating area. Guests are welcome to use the barbecue on summer evenings. Watch the narrow boats go by from the secluded upper patio or feed the ducks from the canal side.
Rosemundy Cottage is a 10 minute level walk to the Market Place either by road or towpath. Browse among the many individual shops in Devizes, hire a boat at the Marina and cruise the canal, visit the shire horses at Wadworths brewery and on Thursday the open market is not to be missed. Follow the town trail, take in the museum or stroll down the Caen Hill locks.
In the evening sample a pint of locally brewed 6x at one of Devizes many hostelries or visit the Wharf Theatre or Palace cinema. Events are advertised at the Tourist Office or Town Noticeboard. Local restaurants cater for all tastes. Devizes Festival is in June and Carnival week is at the end of August.
