Wiltshire is the family travel destination for fun, laughter and entertainment. Come and explore the many exciting attractions, events and beautiful countryside on offer to entertain and delight your family.
Longleat has become our best known attraction for families following the success of the BBC's programme 'Animal Park'. You'll need more than a day to see everything as its spectacular gounds contain no less than 12 attractions. Take a drive on the wild side through the Safari Park; jump on the 'Wet and Wild' Safari Boats; get lost in the hedge maze and wander around Britain's friendliest stately home.
Swindon's historic links with the railways are recalled at 'STEAM', the Museum of the Great Western Railway. This is no ordinary dry and dusty museum - it has all kinds of exciting exhibits which capture the sounds, sights and smells of the bygone 'Age of Steam'.
Ideas for a day out for kids include taking a ride on a standard-guage steam train at the Swindon and Cricklade Railway, or hopping on the miniature line at the Brokerswood Country Park near Westbury.
Younger children will also love our all-weather farm attractions - Farmer Giles Farmstead near Salisbury, Roves Farm Visitor Centre near Highworth and Rabbit World and Cholderton Charlie's Farm. You can even see bison at Bush Farm Bison Centre near Mere.
Wiltshire also has a wilder side that will capture the imagination of the older children in the family. Wiltshire's Castle Combe Circuit enjoys a big reputation with motor sports fans, offering excellent racing. You can also have a go yourself at the racing school or on open track days. Or why not try kart racing, a skid pan experience or four wheel drive course at the adjoining Castle Combe Skid Pan and Karting Track.
