Breathtakingly situated in Wiltshire on the outskirts of Bath lies Castle Combe village. Untouched since the 17th Century, this world famous Cotswold village is home to the definitive country retreat, the Manor House Hotel.
Surrounded by 365 acres of rolling parkland the Manor House boasts 48 individually designed bedrooms and suites, the Michelin star Bybrook restaurant, a Peter Alliss designed 18 hole championship golf course, a warren of sumptuous lounges, ornate Italian gardens, rolling lawns with croquet green, garden pavilion, terrace seating and the meandering river Bybrook, creating a haven of peace and calm.
Luxurious bedrooms and suites are found in either the 14th century Main House or 16th century Mews Cottages. Each room has its own unique features such as exposed Oak beams, grand four poster beds, idyllic views, roll top, infinity or jacuzzi baths and open fire places giving you the opportunity to find a room that is perfect for you.
Led by Richard Davies, our brigade of chefs use the best locally source suppliers and produce from our Kitchen Garden, Meadow Orchard and Paddock area with Pigs, Chickens and Quails, to create award winning cuisine that is served in the Michelin star Bybrook restaurant. Winner of “Wiltshire’s Life Restaurant of the year 2011/12” and one of “Square Meals Top 50 dining venues outside of London 2011/12” the Bybrook has successfully retained it’s Michelin star status for 4 years running. Our award winning cellar provides an “AA notable wine list 2011/12” that perfectly compliments the seasonal flavours with an expert Sommelier on hand to talk you through each glass.
For something a little lighter yet no less luxurious we offer an award winning afternoon tea out on the lawns or in front of an open fire place in the lounges. The prestigious “Tea Guild” have credited us with an “Award for Excellence” for two years running to highlight our commitment to providing the highest levels of quality, service and knowledge of this most English tradition.
Staying at the Manor House allows you to follow in the footsteps of Hollywood’s biggest stars as Castle Combe has featured in a series of films over the years starting with Doctor Dolittle in 1966. Since then “Stardust” with Robert DeNiro,” Wolfman” with Antony Hopkins and in 2011 Stephen Spielberg’s “War Horse” were all filmed in the village using the hotel for cast and crew.
Further afield yet still conveniently close you will find the Georgian city of Bath, Westonbirt Arboretum and Lacock Abbey making the Manor House Hotel an ideal location from which to explore Wiltshire, the Cotswolds, Bath and Bristol.
