Bishopstone Circular Walk

A 4.5 mile walk starting at the picturesque village of Bishopstone

Chiseldon Timberland Trail

A 2.5 mile walk linking Coate Water Country Park to Chiseldon

Coate Water Country Park

Coate Water is a Country Park complete with man made reservoir, nature reserve and home to various activities. There are several walk in and around the park, many of which are level and surfaced-making them ideal for wheelchair users. The most popular route is around the lake which is 1.75 miles long.

Heritage Trail 1 - Kingsdown & Blunsdon

A 6 mile walk through fields and the village of Blunsdon, visiting an ancient hill fort and World War ll AA Battery before viewing the dismantled Highworth to Swindon railway line.

Heritage Trail 2 - Stanton Fitwarren

Enjoy a varied walk through woodland, fields and the delightful village of Stanton Fitwarren, before returning to Stanton Park. The walk is 2.5 miles long.

Heritage Trail 3 - Stratton St Margaret

See part of the old Highworth railway and the old Roman road of Ermin Street before passing Swindon's historic Kingsdown Brewery and then returning to the Woodland Trust car park. The walk is 3 miles long.

Heritage Trail 4 - South Marston and Sevenhampton

Visit these two villages, Nightingale Wood and the church at Sevenhampton complete with Author Ian Fleming's grave. The walk is 5 miles in length

8 Highworth Rambles

A series of 8 walks in and around the historic Market town of Highworth. Walks range from 2.5 miles up to 6.5 miles.

Liddington Castle Circular Walk

An 8.5 mile walk through remote, undualting and scenic downland

Lydiard Park Trail

This walk encompasses 2 different routes to and from Lydiard Park covering a minimum of 2.5 miles

Moredon Tree Collection

Each tree mentioned is clearly labelled with a numbered disc, see if you can identify them as you walk through the woodland

Nightingale Wood

Owned and managed by The Forestry Commission, Nightingale Wood covers 128 acres of land on the edge of Swindon

A 4 mile walk from Purton to Moulden Hill Lake and back

This trail will take you through some of the streets, work places, houses, pubs and social centres the GWR workers and their families worked and lived. Some 270 of the buildings in the railway heritage area are listed, keeping alive what is arguably one of the country’s finest examples of industrial heritage

The Ridgeway National Trail

An 87 mile walk through ancient landscapes.  Over rolling, open downland to the west of the River Thames, and through secluded valleys and woods in The Chilterns to the east, following the same route used since prehistoric times by travellers, herdsmen and soldiers.
