VISITWILTSHIRE UNVEILS NEW ‘TIME FOR WILTSHIRE’ ‘PRESS PAUSE’ CAMPAIGN
1 June 2015
In line with the new ‘Timeless’ Wiltshire brand positioning launched in March 2015, VisitWiltshire unveils its new ‘Time for Wiltshire’ national marketing campaign under a theme of ‘Press Pause’.
The overall emphasis of this ‘Time for Wiltshire’ campaign is to highlight Wiltshire as the perfect antidote to overcrowded cities. Wiltshire gives back what life takes out. Sometimes you need to escape, press pause and let time stand still.
The campaign features Wiltshire’s beautiful gardens, events and festivals, relaxing spas, accommodation, attractions and activities. Visitors are invited to come to Wiltshire in 2015 to experience the county’s timeless wonders, timeless pleasures, timeless places and timeless nature.
The campaign aims to attract 3,000 additional staying visitors and generate over £700,000 in additional visitor spend.
Marketing activity includes a range of digital, social media, print and PR. There are 120,000 A4 leaflets distributed via the Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail to geo-targeted areas. A consumer e-newsletter will go out to over 52,000 people plus there will be digital display adverts and extensive social media engagement including a competition to win a short break to Wiltshire.
As part of the campaign VisitWiltshire are also launching a new video highlighting Wiltshire as an ideal break, whether calming, comforting, refreshing or bursting with high adrenaline excitement. VisitWiltshire’s new video can be seen here - https://youtu.be/rJvJAb9o8io
As well as raising awareness, increasing engagement and generating additional tourism visits and spend, VisitWiltshire expects this campaign to help generate an additional 50,000 unique visitors to visitwiltshire.co.uk. The campaign website page is www.visitwiltshire.co.uk/timeforwiltshire.
Fiona Errington, Marketing Manager says, “We’ve had fantastic support from our Wiltshire partners, many of whom were involved in our brand positioning consultation process. We are confident that this, alongside other activity, will help in achieving yet another record year for visitor numbers to Wiltshire.”
“14 product partners are taking part, with Longleat as the lead sponsor amongst other partners offering a great day out. Town partner Corsham, walking holiday specialist Foot Trails and transport partners Vintage Classics have all been keen to participate. Accommodation partners include holiday cottage specialist Hideaways and Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort,” added Fiona.
VisitWiltshire was established in August 2011 and is the official Tourist Board for Wiltshire. It is a private sector membership organisation representing over 600 partners. VisitWiltshire's priority is to grow the county's Visitor Economy by raising awareness of the destination and generating additional tourism visits and spend. Wiltshire's Visitor Economy currently generates an estimated £1.5billion and supports over 28,000 jobs.
