Fabulous February Half Term Fun with VisitWiltshire
VisitWiltshire has compiled a fabulous list of fun activities for kids and families to enjoy over the February Half Term holidays.
Stonehenge is hosting an Awesome Archaeology event from the 16-24 February. Ideal for junior archaeologists, join the team to discover what you can find in their outdoor excavation trench. You can also get hands-on with facial reconstruction experts who will be showing how to use evidence to recreate faces from the past.
The Pound Arts Centre in Corsham has got a packed programme of activities planned throughout the half-term holidays. Let your imagination run wild with mountains of Lego bricks at Bricking It on 18 February, enjoy a magical performance of Fest West: I Wish I was a Mountain on the 20 February, show off your own theatrical skills with Imagination Station: All the World's a Stage on the 21 February, pop along to the Crafty Café on the 22 February or Mosaic Planters with Emma Leith on the 23 February.
Running from 19–22 February from 11am to 3pm, the REME Museum in Lyneham, features Making Tracks a series of fun family activities. Have a go on their soldier led assault course plus there’s extra tank-themed fun family in the Museum.
Budding Bear Grylls will have a fun time at the Children’s Bushcraft Taster at Devenish, near Salisbury on 20 February and at Biss Wood, Trowbridge on the 21 February. Led by Wiltshire Wildlife Trust you will learn to make your own bow and arrows, and how to build a survival shelter. Booking essential.
Vaughan's Cookery School in Devizes is running a Young Chefs Academy on 20 and 23 February. Designed to give youngsters a firm culinary foundation to grow into competent and confident cook, it is also lots of fun with the added bonus of bringing home the fruits of their labours to share with the family. Plus there’s also a Mini Chefs version for younger children on 23 February.
