AboutSixty years ago, the novel, 'Thrush Green', by Miss Read was published. Set in a small village in the Cotswolds, Thrush Green tells the charming tale of one significant day on the life of its villagers – the first of May, when the annual
travelling fair visits the village green. This year, to mark the sixtieth anniversary of the publication of the original book, Ron Perry has collated events from the life of Miss Read (the pen name of Dora Saint) and along with her daughter, Jill, is delighted to bring excerpts from the play, along with a celebration of Dora Saint's life to the stage. 'Miss Read Remembered' will be performed by Red-lynch Players on May 21-23 at Redlynch Village Hall.
