AboutThe museum acquired the Peter Thursby archive in 2015 and this exhibition represents a glimpse into that archive. Peter Thursby is best known for abstract sculptures that challenged semi-abstract and figurative work. During his career, Peter's work evolved from brutal totemic forms, to elegant and poised aluminium sculptures. This exhibition features a selection of works on paper – drawings that were preparatory sketches for his sculptures and which capture the essence of his work. The exhibition also includes a small number of sculptures, which illustrate the technical prowess of this talented artist.
