About

Journey back in time and discover Stonehenge, probably the most sophisticated stone circle in the world.

Our hop-on hop-off Stonehenge Tour, with audio commentary, picks you up in Salisbury city centre and runs to Old Sarum through the beautiful Wiltshire countryside to the magnificent and magical henge.

On the way back we also stop by the magnificent Salisbury Cathedral where you can see the Magna Carta and the Cathedral in its full splendor.

History Of The Stones:

Stonehenge evolved from a simple bank and ditch in the Neolithic period, some 5000 years ago, to a very sophisticated stone circle built on the axis of the midsummer sunrise.

The bluestones were brought 240 miles from the Preseli Mountains in Wales, but just how they were transported to this isolated place remains a mystery.

There are many stories about the significance of Stonehenge.

It may have been an astronomical observatory or used for sacred rituals linked to the sun, successful crops or even the dead.

We simply don’t know, but you can learn about them on the audio tour at the site – in 10 different languages.

The Stonehenge Tour:

You can buy all-in-one tickets with fast track admission to Stonehenge and Old Sarum, or for the ultimate package why not by the all in one ticket which includes entry and a donation to help with the upkeep of Salisbury Cathedral.

It’s also possible to just pay for the Stonehenge Tour and enjoy a ride through the beautiful Wiltshire landscape.

All our Stonehenge Tour tickets are available to buy online.

Visiting Salisbury and Stonehenge has never been so easy, so if you want to explore these wanders at your own pace then The Stonehenge Tour is the best choice for you!
