Go on safari in Wiltshire
One of the UK’s leading safari parks, Longleat is located in Wiltshire. A visit to Longleat will delight all ages. Feed the giraffes, walk on the wild side with lemurs and look out for the magnificent lions.
Just across the Wiltshire border lays the Cotswold Wildlife Park. Here, you can meet rhinos, giraffes and lions (to name just a few!) as well as hopping aboard Bella the Train. And to the south of Wiltshire you'll find Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre, home to over 250 primates.
For young children, a visit to one of our smaller animal parks is a must. Many have opportunities to handle the animals as well as play parks and soft play.
In the north of Wiltshire you’ll find Roves Farm where you can go on tractor and trailer rides and meet the animals. Don’t forget to look out for their special events during the school holidays.
Close by at Bowood House and Gardens you’ll find Tractor Ted’s Little Farm. Handle rabbits, stroke lambs and see newly hatched chicks and learn more about farmyard animals.
Close to Stonehenge there’s Cholderton Charlie’s Farm with daily pig racing, soft play, animal handling sessions and outdoor play areas.
Butterflies and birds
Walk amongst butterflies at Studley Grange Butterfly World near Wroughton. Onsite you’ll also find meerkats, goats, guinea pigs and other animals.
Spot birds and take part in nature activities at Langford Lakes Nature Reserve and the Cotswold Water Park.
Learn to fly birds of prey at Forest Falconry in the New Forest National Park and see conservation in action.
