About
An evening of glorious Mozart choral music to include the Coronation Mass - most appropriate for this Platinum Jubilee month. Mozart composed it in 1779 for the coronation of Francis 11 as Holy Roman Emperor in 1792.
The Vespers were composed in 1780. Audiences are likely to recognise the beautiful aria "Laudate Dominum" in which the choir joins the soprano soloist for the Gloria. Also being performed is the sublime Mozart "Exsultate, jubilate", a gem among solo soprano works, to be sung by highly acclaimed soprano Keri Fuge.
The other soloists are Emma Lewis, mezzo; Edward Rimmer, tenor; Charles Cunliffe, bass. The Salisbury Symphony Orchestra accompany the choir conducted by John Challenger, Assistant Director of Music Salisbury Cathedral.
