Type: Windmill

Built in 1821, the windmill was fully restored in 1976 and is the only working windmill in Wessex, producing stone-ground, whole-meal flour. Ground floor display covers history of milling as well as a video of the mill in operation. Access to ground floor practicable for the disabled.

During the Windmill open season (Easter to the end of September) flour can be bought at the windmill caravan shop during opening hours (Sundays and Bank Holidays 2pm to 5pm). The following local outlets also stock the flour (1.5kg bags):

Road Directions

From the A338 Salisbury to Hungerford road, turn at Burbage roundabout towards East Grafton on A338, after which the windmill becomes visible on the left. Then follow signs to Wilton Windmill. Windmill can be easily seen from A338.

Public Transport Directions

From Bedwyn Rail Station station it is 2 miles to Wilton Windmill.
At present, no public transport.
