A breath of fresh air

With plentiful footpaths, miles of ancient drove roads and uncrowded country lanes, south Wiltshire offers outstanding opportunities for exploring by bike or on foot.

Rolling hills, chalk downlands and tree-lined river valleys - often with outstanding views - provide endless variety, as well as many unspoilt habitats rich in flora and fauna.

Leaving the rat race behind, you can cycle at your own pace, free to stop off wherever you want - whether you are an experienced cyclist or an enthusiastic beginner, you will find plenty of routes to suit your level of ability.

Long-distance walkers are well served thanks to the Avon Valley Path and the Clarendon Way, but rest assured there are plenty of less strenuous options too! So dig out your walking boots, pump up your tyres and make the most of south Wiltshire's beautiful, unspoiled countryside.
