The forthcoming major feature film on the life of Queen Victoria: Momentum Pictures' The Young Victoria, features Wilton House, near Salisbury. Wilton was used to double for Rosenau Castle, Prince Albert's Coburg and Buckingham Palace.
The film chronicles Victoria's rise to power, and her legendary romance and marriage to Prince Albert. Produced by Graham King and Martin Scorsese, the film stars Golden Globe winner Emily Blunt as Queen Victoria, Rupert Friend as Prince Albert, Paul Bettany, Miranda Richardson, Jim Broadbent, and Mark Strong.
'The Young Victoria' will be in cinemas in the UK on 6th March 2009.
In addition to 'The Young Victoria', Wilton House has many other feature film and television credits. The magnificent House, splendid staterooms and landscaped parkland have been used for period dramas such as 'Sense & Sensibility', 'The Madness of King George', 'Mrs Brown' and 'Pride & Prejudice'.
