The medieval cathedral city of Salisbury offers an ideal setting for conferences and meetings. Originally a Georgian mansion house, 
Milford Hall Hotel, a family owned three star hotel near the city centre, has recently invested in a new conference room to compliment the smaller meeting room in the historic house. Recent investment in meeting rooms at Salisbury's Mercure White Hart Hotel and the Legacy Rose & Crown Hotel has resulted in a choice of contemporary venues in traditional surroundings.
Historic locations abound in the city, with The Guildhall offering a 
unique banqueting and event venue. Located in the market place, 
it is reputed to be haunted, but any ghostly happenings occur well after delegates leave.
Salisbury Cathedral and its Close provide more unusual meeting venues. The Cathedral's restaurant offers a spectacular venue for evening events with a view of the spire above its glass roof. Venues include some of the historic houses and museums in the Close: The Rifles military museum at the Wardrobe, the Salisbury & South Wiltshire Museum and Sarum College all offer unique historic meeting rooms.
In addition to its own entertainment programme, Salisbury's City Hall hosts many of the larger conferences, presentations and events in the south of the county. TV production companies are also catered for - the venue recently was the location for a live broadcast of BBC's Question Time. 
Another renowned cultural venue, The Salisbury Playhouse sits next door and offers delegates behind the scenes tours of the theatre as just one of its conference packages.
Just outside Salisbury, the historic houses of Wiltshire offer a range of conference, banqueting and corporate hospitality facilities. Wilton House, Longleat and Breamore have all featured as film and television locations and are some of England's best event destinations.
