Salisbury > Salisbury and Stonehenge - what to do > Shops and shopping
Shopping in Salisbury is a delight.
Thanks to its origins in medieval times, many of our shops are housed in charming half-timbered buildings with quaint old street names to add to the sense of history. And because of the compact nature of the city centre, nothing is ever more than a short stroll away.
As well as all the major chains we have an intriguing range of those smaller, individual shops you don't find on every high street, and the thriving Charter Market has been coming here every Tuesday* and Saturday for almost 800 years.
Outside Salisbury, our charming country towns and villages offer a further selection of specialist, independent stores and farm shops... and don't miss the Wilton Shopping Village for a great range of factory outlets.
*Except the third Tuesday in October.
