Type: Bed & Breakfast

Tucked away on the edge of Bulford Village, The Dovecot offers comfort hospitality and a wonderfully relaxed and tranquil environment. Situated next to the River Avon, this fine country house has been created from an 18thC dovecot and other period farm buildings. It is set in 6 acres of attractive grounds alongside the river, which is a haven for wildfowl and a delightful spot for a quiet repose after a busy days sightseeing.

Once a working farm, The Dovecot has been converted into a fascinating and comfortable house, offering high-class bed and breakfast accommodation, centred on a charming courtyard garden.

There are 2 en suite bedrooms: 1 double/1 twin and 1 family/double. Both bedrooms look out onto the extensive gardens and water features, and have their own separate access onto the courtyard. Each room has: TV and DVD/CD player, clock/radio and hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities, fridge containing fresh milk and chilled water, wireless connection to the Internet, comfortable period furnishings and, last but not least, fresh flowers.

Breakfast is taken in the original dovecote, which features three-foot deep chalk walls with nesting boxes. Breakfast comprises local produce including homemade preserves and bread, and eggs from our own free range chickens. A full English breakfast is available together with a selection of cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit salad and fruit.

Guests can relax in the large sitting room, which has a roaring fire in winter as well as stunning views over the river, or stroll around the grounds at their leisure.

The Dovecot is well placed for people wanting to either explore Salisbury plain or South Wiltshire, or stop en-route between London and West Country. Bulford is less than 1 mile from the A303, with its dual carriageway link to London via the M3, and is less than 5 miles from Stonehenge and 10 miles from Salisbury.
