The Sanctuary is a family run Bed and Breakfast with four star rating awarded by the English Tourist Board.
Our aim is to provide a relaxed and friendly environment within a family surrounding, with a good range of business and personal facilities. We're praised for the quality of our meals, using organic produce wherever possible, either from our own garden or local suppliers, with an attractive menu. We have two spacious and flexible rooms available for our guests.
Children and dogs are very welcome as well. We have plenty of space for all, and a large garden to sit or play (especially useful for children if you've been stuck in a car for a while).
The village of Ogbourne St George, Wiltshire, is a lovely location in the Og river valley between the Marlborough Downs and equi-distant from Aldbourne, Chisledon and Marlborough. It's a favourite stop-over for people walking, cycling or running stages of the Ridgeway path that passes through on it's way from Ivinghoe Beacon in Buckinghamshire to Overton Hill near Marlborough.
You might be staying here to enjoy one of the many activties available or while you're exploring the rich and varied history of the area. Nearby are many ancient monuments: the most famous of course are Stonehenge and Avebury (which is only 15 minutes by car) and there are plenty more lesser known megaliths around as well.

Road Directions
From Devizes - Take the A361 to Swindon out of Devizes. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit for Marlborough (A4). In Marlborough turn left at the 1st roundabout & take the 1st left at the 2nd roundabout following the A346 to Swindon. After Approx. 4 Miles turn left to Ogbourne St. George. Enter the Village. The Sanctuary is the second building on the right.
Public Transport Directions
From Swindon station
Cross the road to the bus station, then take stagecoach route 70 - the journey takes 30 minutes.
From Bedwyn station take the shuttle bus to Marlborough - Wilts & Dorset route 20 - then stagecoach route 70 to Ogbourne St George.
