Food Trails in Wiltshire
Wiltshire, one of the largest and most diverse counties in England (where the saying "as different as chalk and cheese" originated, as the uplands are quite different from the dairy producing lowlands) is wonderful to explore.
Here are 2 food trail car tours, one covering the north of the county and the other the south, both encompassing splendid scenery and historical sites, with examples of some of the best food that the county has to offer. Famous and also not so well known areas are included, and the establishments are very varied, from cafes and public houses to farm shops and delicatessens.
As Devizes is more or less in the centre of the county, each driving tour begins here and both will take at least a day depending on the length of time you wish to spend at each establishment. Even a short tour, however, should give you some wonderful examples of Wiltshire Fare.
