Here at Basset Down, we’re proud to offer excellent service in a location like no other. Based in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, we’re a family run destination for everyone to visit, for occasions large and small.

Since we opened in 2005, we’ve been committed to our community -local and beyond. Easily accessible from the M4 corridor, you’ll always find a cosy spot and great views waiting for you.

With our 78-seater restaurant and event spaces open to everyone, you can  enjoy casual dining set against stunning scenery, and hire our function rooms for weddings, private events and conferences. 

You can also explore our well-maintained golf course within 100 acres of mature parkland, two footgolf courses and 20-bay Toptracer driving range.

Eat & Drink

Our 78-seater restaurant is open to the public, offering a range of home-cooked dishes, using premium ingredients from local Wiltshire suppliers. From breakfast through to dinner, there's something to tickle everyone’s tastebuds. Choose from our bar and dining area, outdoor terrace or comfy sofa area for your visit.  Perfect if you’re looking for an ideal spot for lunch with friends, a day out, celebrating a special occasion or swinging by for a quick drink.

We have two modern function spaces available for bookings to host a wide variety of events, including wedding receptions, corporate events, baby showers, anniversary/birthday parties and celebrations of life. Our setting, facilities, and customers will leave a memorable experience from start to finish.   With flexible spaces overlooking an AONB, and great access to local transport links, we have everything you would need to host any type of event.

Play:

Our extensive 9 hole golf course is known for its vista of the North Chalk downs. The natural contours of the land make this a stimulating play for all levels of ability, whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just starting out. 

We're home to Wiltshire's largest 18 hole football golf course, and Swindon's only 9 Hole Crazy Footgolf Course! Great fun for an outing with friends & family, birthday parties, team days out, team building and end of season parties.
