VisitWiltshire is asking the people of Britain to vote for Wiltshire, and to take a break from the election by swinging by the county.
With hundreds of places to visit and things to do, visitors can choose to go with the majority and visit Stonehenge or go with a minority and visit smaller attractions such as Lacock Abbey or lovely picturesque villages of Castle Combe or Malmesbury.
Alternatively why not take in a different type of race at Malborough Downs or Salisbury Racecourse. If that does not appeal then delight in all the colours at the famous gardens across the county whether it’s the trees at Stourhead or Tulips at Abbey House Gardens, there is something for everyone.
True battles can be seen at selected castles around the county where re-enactments will be taking place throughout the summer at the likes of Old Wardour Castle.
If all that proves too much, those wanting to duck the issues will find plenty on offer at Wiltshire’s many animal parks including Longleat, Cholderton Charlies or Bush Farm. Visitors can also steer clear of any argy-bargy by relaxing along the Kennet & Avon Canal.
At the end of a day in Wiltshire head of to Swindon to let off steam at the famous railway museum.
All in all if you’re not sure who to vote for at the ballot box but want to avoid the canvassing and politicians on their soap box - then head for Box in Wiltshire as an alternative.
For overnight accommodation in Wiltshire visit www.visitwiltshire.co.uk for ideas or reminisce about another election at The White House in Little Bedwyn, where double rooms, including breakfast cost from £75 per night. www.the-white-house-b-and-b.co.uk
