VisitWiltshire has launched its latest copies of foreign language Mini Guides featuring useful information about the county in a total of eight languages: Spanish, Italian, German, French, Polish, Russian, Chinese and Japanese.
VisitWiltshire has always actively encouraged visitors from around the globe and for 2012 it was recognised that an even greater number of foreign visitors would be entering the UK thanks to the Olympics.
With this in mind, VisitWiltshire created the useful Mini Guides, which outline details of 49 of the county’s most popular attractions, a total of 20 of which are offering special deals for visitors. Each entry also features contact details and a map with easy reference locators. This has been designed so that visitors can find each location in order to plan an itinerary that allows them to visit as many as possible.
All eight guides are available to download from www.visitwiltshire.co.uk and the French, German, Spanish and Italian versions are also available in a printed booklet format. These are available for collection from Tourist Information Centres and other tourism outlets around the county.
David Andrews, Chief Executive of VisitWiltshire commented: “With attractions such as Stonehenge, Avebury and Salisbury Cathedral on our doorstep, it is essential that VisitWiltshire is very much visible to international travellers. These easy to use guides not only provide information about the well known attractions but will hopefully act as an introduction into other sights in the county and encourage foreign visitors to stay on longer.
“It’s our aim to increase both UK and international visitors to Wiltshire, increase their length of stay and increase the diversity of attractions they visit. We believe that the foreign language guides will assist in achieving this goal.”
In addition to producing the guides VisitWiltshire is actively working with VisitBritain in order to maximise visitor potential during the 2012 Olympics. Already the county has hosted some of the USA Olympic team with a special visit to Stonehenge.
