VisitWiltshire Launches Partnership Marketing Fund To Boost Visitor Economy

VisitWiltshire has created a Partnership Marketing Fund to generate additional tourism visits and spend for Wiltshire.

The new fund is intended to help encourage and support the development of new tourism marketing initiatives across the county. 

Access to the fund is available to VisitWiltshire members and other organisations such as tourism bodies, sector groups, town councils, industry associations and local partnerships.

David Andrews, CEO VisitWiltshire said: “We are launching this new fund to help stimulate further investment in tourism from a wide range of organisations across the county and I am confident this will have a significant impact in generating additional tourism visits and spend for Wiltshire.  We have had a fantastic response to the idea of creating this new Fund and it’s already attracting ideas for new marketing partnerships with a number of organisations.

Sean Hughes, Chairman of the Bradford-on-Avon Area Tourism Association, has been involved in developing the concept commented: “We are delighted that VisitWiltshire has launched this funding initiative to help stimulate further investment in tourism.   I have no doubt that this will help create new marketing initiatives that would not be possible without VisitWiltshire’s new funding and partnership approach.”

VisitWiltshire will normally fund up to a maximum of 50% of a project’s total marketing budget and to qualify for funding applications must demonstrate that the proposed project activity will:

·  Generate additional tourism visits and/or visitor spend

·  Have clear additional impact as a result of VisitWiltshire’s investment

·  Be supported with funding by the member/partner.

·  Benefit VisitWiltshire members

£10,000 is being made available for the first round of applications which closes on 27 January 2012.  £20,000 will be available in round 2.

There will be three rounds for applications in 2012:

·  Friday, 27 January 2012

·  Thursday , 12 April 2012

·  Thursday, 13 September 2012

The Partnership Marketing Fund Application Form is available from davidandrews@visitwiltshire.co.uk or can be downloaded from www.visitwiltshire.co.uk.  Upon completion, applications will be reviewed and awarded by a panel of industry partners.
