The forthcoming major feature film The Wolfman was filmed on location in Wiltshire. The movie, which goes on general release on 10th February 2010, was filmed in various locations around the county including 'England's prettiest village' Castle Combe and the National Trust village of Lacock.
Visitors to the villages can follow in the footsteps of Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins who star in the film.
The village of Lacock was transformed for eerie scenes in the new horror movie, which is a remake of the 1941 original. Huge blocks of ice and models of dead bodies were used on set at the Tithe Barn to portray a Victorian Ice House, while one of the garages in High Street was turned into a blacksmith's workshop where silver bullets were being made.
Filming also took place in Castle Combe's High Street as part of a four-day shoot, manned by a production crew of almost 300 people. As the village streets are so narrow, the nearby Castle Combe Circuit hosted most of the production unit and their vehicles.
Why not take a weekend break taking time to explore both villages which are within a short drive of each other. For those on a budget Lower Lodge bed and breakfast in Lacock offers double rooms from just £60 per night, including breakfast. Alternatively why not enjoy a first class luxury stay at The Manor House in Castle Combe where double rooms start from £180 per night, including breakfast.
