Avebury Stone Circle
At the centre of a prehistoric complex in the Marlborough Downs stands the World Heritage Site of Avebury, the largest stone circle in the world. Dating from around 4,500 years ago, many of the stones were re-erected by Alexander Keiller in the 1930's. The circles and henge enclose part of the village.
Farleigh Hungerford Castle
This impressive 14th century castle offers hidden treasures including rare medieval wall paintings in the chapel, and 'portrait' coffins in the crypt. Let the audio tour bring the intriguing, sometimes gruesome, Hungerford family histories to life.
Old Sarum

Old Wardour Castle
Climb to the top of this ruined medieval castle, explore the grotto and beautiful lakeside grounds. a 'Big Book of Castles' and book box are available for families. Picnics welcome. Contact the site for details of special events.
Rockbourne Roman Villa
Child Friendly trails and worksheets are available from reception which take you around the museum and site. There is a handling table with real and replica Roman objects and for smaller fingers we have duplex bricks to build you own villa! Plus the chance to dress-up in Roman style clothes. And on 20 June, during National Insect Week, don't miss Spiders as Predators & Prey - taking place from 11am to 1pm and 2pm -4pm activities will include aamily Workshops, a spider hunt around the grounds and the chance to handle a spider! (Included in normal admission price.)
Salisbury Cathedral and Magna Carta
We love to welcome children and 2010 sees the introduction of a new ‘Children’s Trail’ and activity packs for the younger ones. In addition to this, during half term and school holidays, The Cathedral Education Centre run fun activities for children: ‘Junior Craft’ and ‘Family Drop-in’ workshops.
