Shopping in Salisbury

A Market City

There’s the twice weekly Charter Market. Held on a Tuesday* and Saturday (*except the third Tuesday in October) the market fills the Market Place with stalls selling an array of goods including fresh produce, clothing and household items. Other markets regularly come to the city too including a fortnightly farmers’ market, vintage markets and recently, teenage markets too.

At Christmas, Salisbury welcomes a Christmas Market too held in the historic Guildhall Square.

Independent Shops

Salisbury is blessed with a wealth of independent shops from arts and craft shops, boutiques and specialist food shops notably on Fisherton Street, Winchester Street and the High Street.

Be sure to pay a visit to Fisherton Mill – one of the south’s largest arts emporiums up on Fisherton Street and pick up something unique to remember your visit.

Salisbury Shopping Malls

There are three shopping malls in the city centre:

• The Cross Keys – home to TK Maxx, Richmond Classics and some cosy coffee shops
• Old George Mall – with Marks & Spencer, BHS and H&M
• The Maltings – home to several independent retailers as well as The Works and Sainsbury’s supermarket

On the outskirts of the city there’s large retail shops on Southampton Road including Next, B&Q and Matalan and on Churchill Way West there’s a large Waitrose Food & Home store plus other retail units.

Just three miles out of the city at Wilton is the Wilton Shopping Village which offers shopping at very competitive prices with a beautiful riverside setting.
