In 1913 Edwin Young gave Salisbury funds to build an art gallery. His bequest also included his own art works, including watercolours of Salisbury and its environs. Today, they are complemented by other watercolours representing all periods and styles. Various temporary exhibitions are also held throughout the year.
With resident artists and regular art and sculpture exhibitions, a visit to Fisherton Mill is a must. Most exhibitions have the option for you to buy artwork too.
Keep your eyes open for temporary exhibitions throughout the season at Salisbury Cathedral including sculpture and light installations.
In March 2015, the new Magna Carta exhibition opened within the Chapter House as part of the 800th celebrations of this important document.
Within the Cathedral Close, the Salisbury Museum houses both permanent collections of art as well as major art exhibitions that have included works by Turner and Constable.
Salisbury Arts Centre houses regular exhibitions that are free to visit throughout the year.
