Inner circle tours of Stonehenge
Some of the guided tour companies listed above offer inner circle tours at selected times of the year. Alternatively, English Heritage offer certain dates to the general public for booking an inner circle tour. These tours take place outside the normal admission times for Stonehenge i.e. early in the morning or of an evening and must be pre-booked.
Inner circle tours are very popular so early booking is strongly advised but this is a truly spectacular way to see the stone circle.
Getting to Stonehenge by public transport
If a tour isn’t your thing and you don’t have a car then there are some other options available. There are public buses to Amesbury and Durrington operated by Salisbury Reds. There are some walks across the Stonehenge landscape which will take you to the stones. Visit the Connecting Wiltshire website for more details.
Things to know
Stonehenge now operates a pre-booked ticketing system. In order to guarantee admission it is strongly advised that you book your tickets in advance.
