Outdoor activities to explore our timeless landscapes
If you enjoy walking then there is lots of opportunity for walking here. Stroll along the towpath of the Kennet & Avon Canal, climb to the top of Cley Hill for spectacular views or walk long distance trails such as the Ridgeway. We’ve even put together our top 10 places to walk to help get you started. If you prefer a bit more help with where to go why not consider a walking holiday with one of our local walking companies? Or have a go at paddle boarding, canoeing, archery, climbing and even zombie apocalypse game with the Wiltshire Outdoor Learning Team.
Cyclists and horse riders will enjoy the byways that cross the countryside too.
If you enjoy bird watching then head to Langford Lakes Nature Reserve or join Wiltshire Wildlife Trust for one of their guided tours that take in the local flora and fauna.
