Major Travel Trade Workshop Comes to Salisbury
VisitWiltshire is working in partnership with UKinbound to host a major Travel Trade workshop to grow domestic and international tourism to Salisbury on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 March.
The event, which is being led by VisitWiltshire in association with Salisbury businesses, England’s Great West Way and UKinbound, a trade association that represents the inbound tourism industry, will welcome 15 tour operators specialising in a range of markets including, Europe, USA and the Far East.
The Discover Workshop will consist of 300 one-to-one business meetings between tour operators and local tourism products and services. This event is designed to facilitate new business relationships between buyers and suppliers with a view to create more bookable product to increase visitor numbers and contribute to the value of Salisbury and Wiltshire’s visitor economy.
“We’re delighted to have this opportunity to showcase what Salisbury has to offer to tour operators from around the world at this event. The positive response from local tourism businesses has been great and we are certain the delegates will be impressed with the scope and the quality of what the city and the surrounding area has to offer,” said Florence Wallace, Travel Trade Manager
“This event is part of our broader commitment and wider strategy to work with the travel trade to help develop additional bookable product,” she added.
During the two-day event delegates will have the opportunity to tour many of the city and the surrounding areas tourist attractions including the Cathedral, Stonehenge, Salisbury Museum, Mompesson House, Arundells and the Rifles Wiltshire and Berkshire Museum.
Attendees will also take a Salisbury city guided tour, meet local businesses and sample the city’s restaurants, shops and pubs.
The event will also include a presentation from VisitBritain who will be sharing some visitor statistic insights with the delegates and a welcome from UKinbound’s CEO Joss Croft.
