3Play UK Smooth Jazz Band are a contemporary UK Smooth Jazz Trio. We were formed in 2023, and has a collective of super-sub musicians that currently perform with the group. We play songs by Bob James, Shakatak, George Duke, Fourplay, Jeff Lorber and many more, plus our own original songs. We are currently working on a new album which will be due for release soon!
John-Paul started playing Hammond organ at the age of 10, influenced by his late father who was an organ player and music enthusiast. Age 11, John-Paul was a finalist in the UK competition 'Home Organist of the Year'. John-Paul started to develop his own style – heavily influenced by Harry Stoneham, Tony Pegler, Keith Evans, Jimmy Smith, Alan Woodly, and Joey DeFrancesco. John-Paul's recent credits are appearing with his own band John-Paul Gard Trio, The Ben Waghorn Trio, The Becky Biggins Band, and has appeared with The Eddie Martin band (Blues), The Lee Goodall Trio and The Mike Britton Trio. He is currently endorsed by Roland, Electro Harmonix, Focusrite/Adam Audio and Ketron products.
