About
We had some lovely feedback from the last two Fayres so we're excited to put it on again this year!
For the kids there's loads of races for all ages, a tug o'war against parents, fun inflatables (including 'Last Man Standing') and the Frome Dragon will be making an appearance for rides. Corsley Tennis Club will be hosting a mini 'have-a-go' so if your children or grandchildren have thought about taking up tennis but weren't quite sure if it's for them, the club would be so pleased to get some kids involved.
For all you dog lovers, there's a fun dog show – go on, pamper your pooch and see if you can win a rosette – 'Best Six Legs' is for both of you, and there's a class for children too – 'Best Young Handler (under 10 years of age)' – all the classes can be found on our website. There will be a gundog demonstration and, for the most energetic dogs, there's a fun scurry too – it's proper doggy larks so do pop along and join in!
If all this sounds far too energetic, you could either prop up the bar or park yourself on a bale and watch the Fayre unfold. The ladies in the WI Tea Tent would be only too delighted to serve up a cup of tea or coffee and a delicious slice of cake. Luke will be firing up his stonking barbecue again this year or, for a lighter snack, give Clare's Posh Crepes a go – they're really scrummy and Tony will be serving up some of his cooling ice creams.
The Horticulture and Crafts competition is sure to be a wow! Come and see what all our exhibitors have been up to in the garden, craft room, kitchen and workshop. We've some new classes this year and we'd love to see YOUR exhibits – there's a class for everyone and for all abilities. If you've never exhibited before, now's the time to get thinking about what you could show us; we have proper judges for Vegetables & Fruit and Flowers & Plants, Homecraft (cooking and baking) and Photography. All the other classes are judged by the public using tokens – they're all fun competitions so it would be fantastic if you'd join in – you're in with a chance of a certificate to prove you're the cream of the crop! You can enter online at www.corsleyfayre.org.uk - all classes are FREE to enter (the H&C classes will go live on our website at the end of May). Also in the Horticulture and Crafts marquee you'll find Malcolm demonstrating pottery (and you can have a go too!), the Bonsai Club and the Cactus and Succulent Club will be showcasing some of their magnificent specimens – there's so much variety and they'd be delighted to have a chat about their fascinating hobbies. The ladies from Frome Weavers will be bringing some looms for you to have a go – they were jolly popular last year!
There's far too much going on to list it all here, so do come along and see what else is on offer – you're sure to have a wheeze with all our attractions!
