Be inspired!... and enhance your culinary skills.
Vaughan’s Cookery School offers a comprehensive range of public, professional, bespoke, corporate and children’s courses, along with culinary hen parties and group sessions for a party with a difference or a fun evening with friends. Participants receive a very ‘hands-on’ and fun experience in small groups, producing healthy and nutritious meals. Vaughan’s Cookery School feel passionate about creating a ‘naturally balanced’ style of cuisine that maximises nutrition.
Sessions cover a variety of different topics and, as the group size is small and all our tutors are well qualified and experienced, we can support those who are less confident in the kitchen and stretch those who are already competent cooks. Popular choices to improve skills in the kitchen are ‘Speedy Meals’, “Seafood Special’, ‘Basic Bread’ and a range of classes that focus on specific styles of cuisine: Moroccan, Indian, Thai, Mexican, French, Spanish and many more. We also offer ‘Cooking to Impress’, ‘Dinner Party Desserts’ and many others, including a day with Juanita, MasterChef finalist from 2016. There’s also informative and hands-on classes to find out more about cooking gluten free items and managing a sugar free diet for diabetics. The youngsters are not left out: Saturday Cooking Club comprises Mini Chefs (6-10) in the mornings and Young Chefs (11-16) in the afternoons. During school holidays our Young Chefs Academy provides a whole day of hands-on cooking. Our group or custom corporate sessions are also very popular.
See the current list of courses on the website www.vaughanskitchen.co.uk - prices range from £30 for Mini Chefsto £120 for a whole day.
As an approved teaching centre for the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH), our Professional Kitchen Essentials course results in a nationally and internationally recognised qualification. We are also a member of the Independent Cookery Schools Association.
The teaching team is led by Peter Vaughan, a highly experienced and award-winning chef with over 26 years working in the catering industry. Peter is a member of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and has been a popular guest tutor at Leith’s School of Food and Wine in London for many years.
Here’s what some of our customers said about our cookery classes:
"I came away from the day feeling inspired and ready to reproduce the dishes at home. I recommend the classes to anyone and will definitely be going back for a further course in the future.”
"What a great day! It exceeded my (already high) expectations. Thanks."
"It has been a real treat to be taught by a team that are not only knowledgeable about food and cooking but are passionate about it too."
"…it is great to be in what feels like a professional environment – it feels as if we are really here to cook, not just be entertained."
"Thank you again for running such a brilliant course and inspiring all these young cooks!"
