The first Uniform Services Day event took place on 9th September 2023 in Trowbridge Park. With over 70 stalls in attendance from a wide range of uniformed services, including the army, police, fire service, St John Ambulance, RNLI, RSPCA, local air and sea cadet groups, search and rescue organisations, and Wiltshire Air Ambulance, along with a great variety of charity stalls and retail stalls, There were lots of fun have-a-go activities for all the family, from assault courses to first aid demonstrations, inflatables and fairground rides, wonderful historic and current vehicle displays, living history exhibits, and delicious food and drink.
In addition, there was a full schedule of entertainment on stage and in the arena that included a spectacular parachute jump, historical reenactments, music from service bands, and the Military Wives Choir.
The event was a great family day out and a fantastic opportunity for the uniform services to engage with the community and other groups, and for the community to show their support for these special organisations.
Building on the success of 2023, we hope to make Uniform Services Day 2024 even bigger and better! The event will take place on Saturday 14th September in Trowbridge Park, and bookings are now being taken for stalls and exhibits, along with performance slots for both our stage and the arena.
