Some of our most beautiful landmarks and towns are about to be illuminated with cheerful festive colours, leading visitors on spectacular after-dark adventures amidst decorations and dynamic light displays. With mulled wine, mince pies and festive music, what better way could there be to step into Christmas this November, December and January?

Winter Light Trails in Wiltshire

These upcoming winter light trails will all take place over the Christmas period at Wiltshire’s landmarks and attractions:

Christmas at Longleat

Experience the famous Wiltshire safari park in a different light this winter, as Longleat is transformed by music and magic. See beautiful Longleat House bathed in coloured lights, follow the winding Winter Wonderland path amongst towering silk flowers, enjoy storytime with the owls and encounter Britain’s biggest singing Christmas tree! Christmas at Longleat promises an evening of warmth and wonder for the whole family.

Christmas at Stourhead

Follow a glittering illuminated Trail around Stourhead's unique gardens this festive season. The winter lights trail at Christmas at Stourhead will see over a million lights, lasers and seasonal sounds filling the air with festive fun. There will be neon strings stretched between towering trees, a walk through a tunnel of hearts and a flotilla of festive boats bobbing on the lake.

Swindon Town Gardens Enchanted Gardens Light Trail

This winter, the historic Town Gardens in Swindon will host a brand-new illuminated winter light trail. The Enchanted Gardens Light Trail will see the town's Victorian Gardens transformed with illuminated trees, remarkable light sculptures, low-level soundscapes, interactive illuminations and more throughout December.

Christmas Lights in Wiltshire’s Towns

From the end of November or early December, many of Wiltshire’s towns will be illuminated by spectacular festive lights, Christmas trees and delightful decorations. Find out when the Christmas lights will be switched on in towns across Wiltshire. Some of our towns have even more exciting festive events planned, including the Salisbury Christmas Tree Trail which will lead visitors on a festive walk around the city, Devizes Window Wanderland which will see local residents lighting up their streets, and the Trowbridge Christmas Lantern Festival on 27 November, when scores of beautiful handcrafted lanterns will be paraded through the town. Winter Woodland Lights at the Hawk Conservancy Trust

Begin the new year with a sparkle at the Hawk Conservancy Trust's Winter Woodland Lights. Follow a captivating trail through woodland illuminated by beautiful illuminations, and experience a stunning live owl display. Winter Woodland Lights will take place just over the Wiltshire border in Hampshire from 14 to 30 January 2022.

Join the search for the lost reindeer this Christmas at Westonbirt Arboretum.
