About

Set within one of the most stunning landscapes of Southern England, high on the chalk of the Cranborne Chase in Wiltshire, Rushmore Golf Club provides year-round golf on free-draining turf. It combines the best of both worlds; a thoroughly modern golf course set in beautiful, ancient parkland which is now forging a reputation as one of the best golf courses in the region. It also has the unusual distinction of having 9 holes in Dorset and 9 in Wiltshire.

The course begins in the designated parkland of the old deer park before crossing the ‘Shire Rack’ into Dorset, with incredible views towards the south coast and as far as the Isle of Wight. The course should prove a good test, not only of your playing ability, but also of your course management.

A haven for wildlife, you will see ducks & moorhens near the ponds and if you get a little closer, frogs, toads & newts. Away from the waters’ edge, the course provides a habitat for butterflies, birds and small mammals. Other visitors include the deer that roam free in the surrounding woods and on a sunny day you might even see the macaws that sometimes fly over from the neighbouring Larmer Tree Gardens.

The club prides itself on its warm and friendly welcome to members and visitors alike. We have an active membership, with many golf and social events taking place throughout the year. We welcome societies and visitors seven days a week, offering excellent golf, good home-cooked food and a fine selection of beer and wine.

The Rushmore Clubhouse is open to all, golfers and non-golfers alike.

The clubhouse has stunning views over the historic parkland and golf course, with a restaurant that can seat up to 80 visitors and with further seating on a fabulous decking, when the weather is fine.

The Restaurant is open 7 days a week and offers a unique brand of quality food, including local, seasonal Rushmore produce such as venison, lamb and pheasant. Children are welcome and we often have groups dropping in for refreshment after walking in the surrounding countryside.

The Spikes Bar is the perfect venue for a relaxing drink before or after your game, or a place to meet friends for a coffee & breakfast, or snack lunch.

The Television Lounge is a relatively new addition to the clubhouse & boasts a 50″ TV screen. Come & join us for a drink & catch up with the latest sporting events in comfort.

Rushmore is easily reached by car from the local towns of Shaftesbury & Blandford as well as Salisbury & the South Coast resorts of Bournemouth & Poole and the course is clearly signed from the A30, A354 & B3081.
