Salisbury & South Wilts Golf Club

About

Matured naturally for over 100 years, and set in beautiful rolling countryside, there has been a golf course here since 1888.

Surely this is one of the most picturesque and classic examples of an English downland course.

All golfers will enjoy the stunning views across open countryside to Salisbury Cathedral and beyond.

Salisbury & South Wilts Golf Club is a traditional and forward thinking Members’ Club, where visitors are made most welcome.

There are 27 holes available for play, made up of the main 18 hole Cathedral course which is recognised as a strong golfing challenge to all types of golfer, and the easier going 9 hole Bibury course that winds its way around and even over the Racecourse.

Both of the courses are maintained to a very high standard by a dedicated team of professionals. The greens in particular at Salisbury & South Wilts are highly praised by our guests.

The Club hosts an annual Pro-Am Tournament which attracts many of the region’s top professional golfers, often including European tour players. In recent years, we have also hosted county fixtures, including the Wiltshire County Championship.

Inside the Clubhouse, a wide selection of drinks and food is always available. The Club has two function rooms - the Pembroke Suite which can seat up to 120, and the Meeting Room which seats up to 40 and boasts excellent views over the Course.

The function rooms are popular with weddings, parties and corporate meetings, and the office are always happy to discuss requirements and put together a suitable package.

Visiting golfers are very welcome at the Club, and the Golf Society packages represent terrific value for money and can be tailored to suit each society’s needs.

The fairways are mostly wide with small greens. There was rain when I played which made a few of the greens soggy, but others seemed just as quick. Didn’t meet any water hazards? Apart from the rain... Read full review
