FUNDRAISER FOR MEDECINS SANS FRONTIERES IN GAZA
AKABELLA, Bradford-on-Avon's pioneering a cappella singing group, is 30 years old this year!
We are celebrating our birthday in the wonderful space of Holy Trinity Church, Bradford-on-Avon at 3pm on Saturday October 18th, with past and present members of Akabella assembling to perform many of the best and most-requested songs from the extensive repertoire we have developed over thirty years.
The concert is a fundraiser: ALL proceeds from ticket, refreshment and CD sales will go towards the work of Medecins Sans Frontieres, specifically in Gaza. The ticket price is deliberately low: there will additionally be a retiring collection at the concert (cash or card) for MSF's invaluable work.
Expect heartfelt songs of peace and passion; uplifting, joyful and vibrant choruses; music and words from many traditions in unique arrangements delivered with soul and commitment.
We are delighted to welcome special guests Uke-O-Lective, the newly formed B-O-A ukulele orchestra, who will play at the beginning of the concert.
Refreshments will be available at the interval, along with the chance to view an exhibition of photos, posters and memorabilia from Akabella's history. Akabella's three CDs will be available to purchase at PWYW ('pay-what-you-want') prices, with all the money again going to MSF.
