The Gould Piano Trio have remained at the forefront of the international chamber music scene for well over a quarter of a century. Returning to WMC, they explore the contrasts of three giants of the genre, from the classical balance of Joseph Haydn to the romantic elegance of Franz Schubert. At the heart of the programme, Antonin Dvořák's deep interest in Slavic folk is evident through the rhythmic vitality of his poignant second piano trio.
